Hi there. I bought the buttefly houses and have receipts to send off for both boxes of painted ladies. the ones i bought at the local butterfly encounter, emerged and flew away. I have raised Gulf Fruitilla, painted lady, monarchs, I have a rseoy maple moth crysalis, and found 2 eastern black swallowtails onmy parsley. They are beautiful I will send a picture! I have rescued 50 some monarch eggs and raised them ALL( excpet the ones I accidentally dropped and LOST! ( 4), and they are on live milkweeds. I had to buy more ,ilkweed and have 2 backup plants. They are on 4 plants in pots now. I gave 6 to a neoghbor who has rasied them succesfully and loaned him a house and gave him aplant. gave another 3 to another neighbor who is goin g to help take care of mine when i am out of town. But If she doesn't feel secure enough, I will ask the neighbor boy. I also took 6 or 7 to the local buttefly envcounter. So no one has died and I still have 27 catepillars, monarch. They are groing well and i keep finding eggs. I bought a house from the enconter that opens inthe front , so i can put plants in thre. It was only 5.00 more than the ones at walmart, where you can'tout a plant. If you want I can get one for you. it ihas one side that is clear plastic and you can see them better. So this time around, all is well and no ne has died! YEAH! just my milkweed and I have STUBBS in the yard. the new plants i keep inthe patio til li need them becsue of the milkweed beetles. I did find that home depots plants are so much cheaper! they are only 3.49 for p to 7 stalks and 7.94 for ! 3 ! Plants in a pot! wow, versus 4.98 for ONE PLant! So if you need milkweed go to home depot. take care and lmk if yoyu want me to send you one of the bigger houses. i will take a picture of it and send it to you.. ccarol

Jennifer, thank you so much for identifying the hummingbird moth for me! I'm so excited to know what it is. I kept saying that it looked like a hummingbird with the body of a bumblebee, so I wasn't too far off, I suppose. LOL I really appreciate it!
